Cause when the roof caved in and the truth came out I just didn't know what to do. Some of the worst betrayal moments in the Buffyverse in my opinion. Which one do you think is the worst? There are more people involved in the last scenario I just couldn’t fit them all in the picture. Pretty much everyone in the episode except for Andrew and Spike contributed to Buffy being thrown out of her own home. Giles is involved in three out of the six incidents. I still love Giles overall, but these were pretty big betrayals especially what he did in Helpless. I feel really badly for Tara when it comes to Willow erasing her memories with magic. Tara felt so violated by what Glory had done to her. She also grew up with a father who tried to manipulate her into thinking she was a demon. She loved and trusted Willow only to have Willow also take advantage of her mind. Again, I still care about Willow overall, but she was completely in the wrong and out of control at that time. Wes’ betrayal to Angel could have been avoided had he just opened his mouth and asked another team member to help him get to the bottom of the situation. They could have protected Connor as a team. What Wes does instead leads to a chain of events which alters the lives of those around him. Do I even need to comment on what Xander did? He’s Xander. One thing I really love about Buffy as a character is her ability to see when people change and grow. She knew all about Spike’s wrong doings over the years but she still took note of his positive changes and believed he could be a good man once he got a soul. Some of the other characters kind of had it set in their minds that Spike was bad, the end. He was doing good right in front of them at times and it was never enough. This was very unfair and judgmental as some of them despite having souls did some really terrible things over the years. They wanted forgiveness and acceptance from the group and many of them received it. Why wasn’t Spike worthy of another chance? Buffy goes through so much herself that she knows the person you start out as and the person you wind up as are not always one in the same. She saw how much the soul meant to him and how much he wanted to do good to make up for his many sins over the last 100 years or so. She believed in him and she inspired him to be better. She was willing to see a man and not just a monster eveh though he still had fangs. Her forgiveness, openess and encouragement helped to give him the strength he needed to save the day in the finale.
