Is this anything to do with perception and the rate at which things live, I wonder? A dog year is 5 of ours, and 75 frames divided by 15 frames is 5.

what programming is presented higher than 24fps? the tv can handle more but if the broadcast doesn't have that information

Buzz! 25 fames a second for films. Wrong 24 frames for film and 25/30 frames per second for TV. Pal 25/NTSC 30

The higher frames means very little motion blur. Motion blur makes things look smooth, in a different way.

This does obviously not apply to games but the reason it applies to cinema is not just the frame rate of the TV it’s the issue that u lose motion blur

I have 2 cats. Loki rarely watches tv but Hades everytime he hears Prof Brian Cox he sits there and watches until ads come on. He then bolts 😁

the dogs issue was only a problem with CRT TV's because the pixels turned off between frames. since LCD dogs have been able to comfortably watch TV.

most animation that is older is "animated on twos" which means one new drawing every two frames. Which means 12 fps.
