To everyone saying they’re in a calorie deficit but not losing fat… You’re not actually in a deficit. You’re falling into one of two traps — and I’ve been in both: 1. You trust calculators and watches too much. I don’t care what your Apple Watch says or what some online TDEE calculator told you… Your maintenance isn’t a fixed number. It’s a moving target. When I was bulking, I needed around 5,000 calories a day just to gain 0.5 lbs per week — so my true maintenance was likely in the high 4000s. So when it came time to cut, most people would guess 3,500 would work… Nope. I had to drop to 2,300–2,500 just to start seeing fat loss. Your calculator might say 3,000 maintenance and you eat 2,500 expecting to lose a pound a week… But when nothing happens — this is why. 2. You suck at tracking. And I say that with love. You’re: – Not tracking oils – Eyeballing rice – Forgetting peanut butter licks and bites of food at work – Adding milk to coffee and not logging it – Drinking your calories – Not logging “clean” meals – Guessing serving sizes If you’re on 1,500 cals and still stuck — this is probably the reason. Fix #2 first. That solves it for 90% of people. If not… lower your intake and watch the fat come off. Drop a follow if this helped.
