It is highly addictive because you are unable to determine when the next reinforcement will be.  This same reinforcement schedule is also why you find it so difficult to let go of your avoidant ex. That unpredictability is exciting at first until you realize that Anxious-Avoidant Trap has you in a choke hold and you letting years of your life slip away without ever getting your needs met. My Advice: ✅Ownership          Realize you are addicted and take inventory of the toll it is taking on your mental and physical health. Do you really want to gamble away precious years of your life on someone else’s potential? Or do you want to bet on yourself and do the work that is required to heal from that dynamic?       ✅No Contact          Going no contact is key because it forces you to adapt to your life without them. It will get worse before it gets better. However, once you start healing, you will find yourself wondering why you ever settled for that non-sense in the first place and be proud of just how far you’ve come.      ✅Invest In Yourself          Read books on psychology and emotional regulation. Invest in courses that will help you elevate to new heights and learn skills that will help you maintain that growth. Do you like the captions on the screen?
