On June 28th, I stepped on stage for my very first bodybuilding show. The 2025 Indy Supershow. I placed 1st in Masters, 2nd in Novice, and 3rd in Open — not bad for someone who completely bombed her posing 😅 But truthfully, I couldn’t be prouder of what I brought, even knowing there’s more in me for next time. This journey started after I turned 40, when I decided to change my life. Year one was about losing the weight. Year two was about learning how to train — really train — and building the discipline it takes to compete. I broke bad habits, stopped self-sabotaging, and finally stopped letting fear or excuses win. I’d postponed shows before due to injury, but this time... nothing was stopping me. Not even an Alaskan cruise a month out, not vertigo, not elbow pain, and definitely not getting my heartbroken by a guy. I lost my grandmother five weeks before show day — and that was the hardest thing I’ve ever endured. But I kept going. Prep is brutal. It takes sacrifice most people will never understand. And I’m so thankful for everyone who supported me through the days I couldn’t talk, go out, or be anything but focused. To my trainer — thank you for never giving up on your most stubborn client. To my posing coach, Kenny Wallach — thank you for giving me the confidence I didn’t know I had. To my friends and gym family who kept me grounded and accountable. And to Paige — my day-one partner and biggest hype woman. Most of all, thank you to my kids. Their understanding, love, and pride in me gave me the drive I needed when everything felt impossible. We didn’t just change my life — we changed our lives. This was only the beginning. I’ll be back on that stage soon. #bodybuildingjourney #wellness #FitOver40 #weightlossjouney #npc
