instead of using paper, i’d recommend draping with muslin fabric. it would be easier with fitting it perfectly to ur dress form, and also make sure u get the perfect pattern piece. also (1)

As a patternmaker I really suggest getting a book to teach you about flat patternmaking. This technique allows your patterns to be way more precise and accurate to a variety of sizes 🥰

Completely cover the stand with tape (make it thick), draw the garment on, peal off the tape, cut into pieces, trace and make adjustments

I wrap my form in cling wrap and then cover in clear packing tape then draw with a sharpie and cut the shapes off the form! Then you can trace them on
