i'm 25 and never knew hoods/hats weren't allowed bc you can't identify the students and i think knowing that would make a huge difference in schools

Hoods provide a sense of security for some. I’d rather have a student feel safe than to have them feel anxious and unfocused on what we’re learning.

People underestimate how much wearing a hood can help with social anxiety. If the teacher ever made me put it down I could never focus.

At our school there is a kid with no hair due to medical and he is an exception to that rule, and a sub tried to make him put his hood down

There is no legal authority for a school to institute most dress codes. The only exceptions are drug speech, obscene speech, and legitimate Saftey.
