@ericanic0le: I’m so tired of seeing people who have never had acne talk crap about someone else’s skin. And I’m also tired of those same people trying to tell people with acne “how to fix it”. “Drinking more water” doesn’t fix it. When your acne is that bad, you are willing to try everything and anything and sometimes literally nothing works… not even accutane. I’ve been on accutane multiple times and my acne has always come back. The emotional toll that comes with acne is so so real and many people like myself go through a very depressive time. When your acne is that bad, it not only takes over your face, but it takes over your mind. It’s all we think about. Whether we are laying in bed trying to fall asleep, we are thinking about it because our face is throbbing in pain. When you are having a conversation with someone, all you think about is whether they are judging you for your acne. When you want to hangout with friends, but your acne is flaring up, you decide to stay home instead because you’re embarrassed. These are just some of the things that people who have never had acne will never understand.
