@theflawedyogini: Never too late to meet The One. My husband @phildiederich and I met 13+ years ago when we had nothing to offer each other but love and support. I had two kids, then 5 and 8 and he had a son, 6. He was divorced and I was separated. We were so so broke that I was on foodstamps and Phil was ready to let his house go into foreclosure. We are both bilingual and multicultural and work for ourselves. We’re creatives and have managed to make a living with our words and images. The past 13 years were devoted to working hard and rebuilding ourselves from the ashes. And of course to parenting the three kids. Now we are practically empty nesters. These past few days we went on a short escapade to Monterrey, Carmel and Big Sur where we were able to just enjoy each other without any other care. It was like a gift for all our hard work as professionals, a couple and as parents. Do we wish we had met at a younger age? Maybe, maybe not. We were both very different people then. Hindsight is 20/20 - and so we are both grateful for the long and winding path that led us to each other.
