@nursecoachmandy: Save this video for next time you are feeling anxious about going out: 4-7-8 breathing exercise: Breathe in for a count of four seconds through your nose slowly, hold for seven seconds, and slowly exhale all your air out for the count of eight. Placing your hand on your belly will help you make sure to breathe deeply into your abdomen. Studies have shown that belly breathing is the most effective way to calm your nervous system. Most of us walk around 90% of the time breathing shallow, which is why we feel so anxious all of the time. The more you practice regulating your nervous system and getting grounded, the better you are going to feel over time. You can even repeat this exercise while you are out.
