Tunnel Falls in Oregon has got to be the most thrilling (and one of the most beautiful) waterfalls I’ve ever hiked to! 😍 - 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰 ⤵️ 🔖 𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘖𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴! __________ ‼️Always remember to practice all of the Leave No Trace principles - respect, protect and preserve momma earth and all her inhabitants!‼️ __________ The second I walked through the tunnel behind the falls and came out on the other side, I started laughing in utter disbelief: “how is this real”?! My jaw dropped. I was standing on the edge of a massive cliff directly next to this majestic + roaring falls as it sprayed me with its cool mist - life never felt more grand! 💦 Even more, you get to see 8 other major waterfalls along this hike such as Punchbowl Falls, Twister Falls, Skoonichuck Falls, Grand Union Falls and many more! ⚠️ Afraid of heights? Don’t recommend doing this one! Love the thrill of heights like me? This is your jam! The majority of the trail is along a narrow cliff with many steep sections (and a rope chain to hold onto). Even more, there’s several awesome + high bridges to cross over! 🗺 The trailhead for this hike (Eagle Creek Trail # 440 in the Columbia River Gorge) is close to many other notable sights such as Multnomah Falls. Just type “Eagle Creek Trailhead” into Google maps and it’ll take you to the parking lot! 🥾 The hike to Tunnel Falls is about 13-14 miles (RT). It varies a bit, depending on whether or not you take the trail down to Punchbowl falls along the way.
