@drmarcpietropaoli: What is the cause of snapping of my elbow? Why do I get snapping next to my funny bone? These are not infrequent questions that we get from baseball/softball players, throwers, and other overhead athletes. The two most common causes of snapping along the medial aspect of the elbow over the medial epicondyle (“funny bone”) are: Ulnar nerve subluxing (moving back and forth) over the medial epicondlye-sometimes associated with numbness and tingling in the ring and “pinky” (4th and 5th) fingers. Medial (inner) head/aspect of the distal (lower)triceps snapping over the medial epicondyle.
