Money can definitely help but it’s entirely possible to gather all the extracurriculars and all the interview practice you need without money

I went to a state boarding school, and there were special prep classes and tutoring for Oxbridge applicants. Free, but all v middle class with tutors.

The issue I have with Oxbridge is that schools have already ear marked candidates very eatly. Huge numbers of late developers are missed

yep. those who went to private school have tonnes of connections. parents literally buy their kids education and professional connections
