Proper lenders should be explaining this to every borrower. On new construction they are supposed to take 80% of sales price x tax rate.

This is why I put down 20% and opted out of escrow. I need full control smh. I save my taxes separately. And Texas has no state income tax but (1/2)

You can try to shop your provider, however, most premiums have gone u p across the board bc building materials are up

Happened to us. Except it was the insurance who jumped up without telling us. At the end, our Escrow was way short and had to be repaid. 😔

they literally can’t charge for developed taxes bc hello it’s not billed yet, hence the disclaimer it’ll adjust_ it’s not deceptive, ppl are dumb

We had the exact opposite issue where our lender sent us a $4k check and was like “we over estimated”. Like hell, the city thinks my taxes are $56.
