💥 Sucking in makes the pelvic floor and core weaker 👉Stop sucking in. Instead stack. 🔷Why? Sucking in makes the muscles in the core + pelvic floor short and contracted. To be strong + functional, muscles need length before shortening. Like doing a full range bicep curl, fully extending the elbow before you curl is how the bicep functions. If your elbow is always bent, you bicep isn’t going to do the curl. Same with the core + pelvic floor. A lengthened, more relaxed pelvic floor is better prepared to prevent leaks and support a strong core. A lengthened more relaxed core is better prepared to contract when we need to lift something heavy or move quickly. 👉How to stack: 1. Find a neutral-ish pelvis. Start by rocking back and forth until you feel that if your pelvis was a bowl of water, the water wouldn’t spill out the front of back. 2. Find a neutral-ish rib cage. Rock back and forth until you feel that if you rib cage was a lampshade the light would shine straight down into the pelvis bowl. 3. Feel the bony bone of your hip, try to align that over the bony bone in your ankles 4.
