I use vinegar in place of fabric softener for every load. It is incredible at taking out old smells and helping clean!

Thanks for this tip! Just in case for unwanted towels take to animal clinics/ shelters. They always accept your old towels

You have to use detergent! These other things are amazing but you have to have a cleaning agent.
