I am Cambodian and have studied history well. I found that
Historically, parts of present-day Cambodia were once under the sovereignty of Thailand (then Siam).
Due to limited capacity to resist colonial powers at the time, Thailand ceded several of its provinces to France under the Franco-Siamese Treaty of 1907. As a result, ancient temples located within the territory that formerly belonged to Thailand are regarded as part of Thailand’s historical and cultural heritage.
Subsequently, when France withdrew from the region, it did not return the provinces it had annexed from Thailand.
The current Cambodian leadership has incorporated educational content into the national curriculum that presents a distorted version of history, which contradicts internationally verifiable historical records.

"Prasat Ta Muen Thom was officially registered as a historic monument of Thailand on March 8, 1935 (B.E. 2478), and has been under the supervision of the Fine Arts Department of Thailand — long before the establishment of the nation of Cambodia."
