I can’t believe it either. The boy who grew up in small-town Union Ridge, North Carolina, working in tobacco fields and helping on farms, now has the scoreboard at NC STATE Carter-Finley football stadium with his name lit up! 🐺🤘❤️ @ncstateathletics As a kid, I watched my parents work hard… My daddy was a postman and my mama was a secretary, and from them, I learned what consistency and work ethic really looked like. That stuck with me, because I had dreams about what my life could be. I remember sitting in front of the TV, watching what was possible, and in my mind, I was already envisioning the life I wanted. I knew I wanted to create something meaningful—something that would help others believe in what’s possible when you believe, and as Jim Valvano said; never, never, never give up! NC State gave me the foundation to chase that dream. I studied textiles, walked those red brick paths, and I wasn’t just earning a degree—I was starting the rest of my life. That campus and the Wolfpack games didn’t just give me an education; it helped shape the way I saw the world and what I believed was possible! So now, all these years later—after building a business, growing a team, and creating the life I once imagined—to see my name on the scoreboard at Carter-Finley Stadium… that’s not just a “look at me” moment. It’s a powerful reminder of what’s possible. A symbol of a life built with sweat, faith, vision, and heart—with a purpose rooted in giving back. This scoreboard isn’t just about a name—it’s about legacy. It represents giving back to the places that raised you and pouring into something bigger than yourself. Jane and I didn’t give to NC State for attention or recognition. We gave because this place helped shape our lives—and we want to help shape the future for the next generation coming through. Integrity. Leadership. Entrepreneurship. Commitment. That’s the legacy I want to leave—not just for my children, but for the world they’ll grow up in. I want this scoreboard to stand as a reminder to future generations: chase your dreams with grit and gratitude, and when you win, reach back and pull others up with you. This scoreboard might carry my name, but the meaning behind it belongs to anyone who ever believed they could build the life they dreamed of. Let’s go, Pack. 🤘🐺 #N247RU #NCState #Wolfpack #Legacy #Gratitude
