éducation = upbringing... I think it has alot to do with the fact here we (parents) educate our kids, and teachers teach (if that makes sense)

my perspective :
I'm married to a French man in the South of France and he EDUCATED me on the term Education. Its a way of being; not necessarily scholarly Education.
