I wouldn't ignore an orchid. Mine prefer indirect sunlight. watering when the roots aren't green (never with ice) and I use Epson salt for fertilizer.

A vanilla orchid is legit nothing care wise like a regular orchid. They’re much more like a pothos in terms

When it fully dries place the pot in water and let it soak. Then make sure it drains fully. Use a proper orchid “soil” mix.
