🐾 RALLY FOR ROSCOE — HE DESERVES A CHANCE 🐾 Some may have seen posts made on Facebook and a couple videos on here of a dog who has touched so many lives during his time here at Livingston County Humane Society. ❤️ Roscoe isn’t just another dog to us. He’s the big, goofy, lovable boy who has made an impression on everyone who’s met him. He’s the one our volunteers rush in to see, the dog our staff goes above and beyond for, and the name people remember long after they’ve left the building. For those who may not understand, LCHS is a no-kill shelter, meaning we do not euthanize animals due to time, space, or age. However, in rare and truly heartbreaking circumstances, such as severe medical or behavioral concerns, we are forced to make extremely difficult decisions. Recently, Roscoe was involved in a bite incident. Because of that, he is currently on a bite hold until November 3rd and cannot have visitors during this time. We know how many people care about him and how much this hurts, but we must follow the required protocols to keep everyone safe. Because of this incident, Roscoe is now considered a liability. And as painful as it is to say… if we cannot find an adopter or a rescue to step forward for him, Roscoe is scheduled for euthanasia on November 6th. 💔 This isn’t just another post for us. This is personal. Roscoe has spent more than half of his life in a kennel. Day after day. Month after month. The walls don’t change. The routine doesn’t change. And over time, the hope in a dog’s eyes starts to dim. We’ve watched kennel life take its toll on him. He still tries so hard to shine, tail wagging, goofy grin, playful heart, but it’s harder for him now. The loneliness and stress of long-term shelter life weigh on him, and you can see it in his tired eyes. And yet… we are grateful. Grateful that we still have a little bit of time to fight for him. Grateful that his story isn’t over just yet. Grateful that there’s still a chance, however small it may feel, to help Roscoe find the person he’s been waiting for all this time. ✨ Roscoe isn’t the right dog for everyone. But he is the right dog for someone. Someone experienced. Someone patient. Someone who understands that the best dogs aren’t always the easy ones. Someone who can offer the structure, love, and stability he’s never truly had. Someone who will see beyond the “liability” label and into the heart of the dog we know and love. We will be extremely careful when reviewing applications for Roscoe. This isn’t just a placement. This is his last chance. And we owe it to him to get it right. Our staff and volunteers are carrying heavy hearts. We love this dog deeply. We’ve celebrated his good days and held him through his bad ones. We’re hurting. So we ask, from the bottom of our hearts, please, no negativity. This situation is already unimaginably painful. What we need most right now is compassion, kindness, and hope. 💛 We also want to share that Roscoe does have a potential rescue placement, but nothing is confirmed at this time. While this gives us a little hope, we can’t count on it as a guarantee. That’s why every share, every rescue contact, and every person willing to speak up for him still matters. We are not giving up. 📅 Bite Hold Ends: November 3rd 🕊 Euthanasia Scheduled: November 6th 📩 Apply to Adopt: https://lchumanesociety.dog/index.php/how-to-adopt/ 📞 Contact: lchumanesociety98@gmail.com | 815-842-1025 Roscoe’s story doesn’t have to end here. But time is running out. If you think you might be Roscoe’s person, or know a rescue that can give him the second chance he so desperately deserves, please don’t wait. Share his story. Help us find the person who will see the dog behind the label. We’re grateful for every moment we have left to fight for him. And we’re not giving up. ❤️🐾 #RallyForRoscoe #saveroscoefromeuthanasia #fyp #humanesociety #adopt
