Some of them also appear installed upside down. The angle web generally bears down toward the wall.

I always look at US houses and laugh at how they glue a bunch of 2x4 together and call it a beam. Doesn't timber come in any other size there?

Holy shit, that’s ridiculous. My most common is a hole cut through too and bottom chord to run the radon pipe. Then ask after.
