@janustiu: Brutal truths that your UX designer friend (me) wants to tell you: 1. You will need to work really hard as the market is very competitive and tech is continuously evolving 2. Your first UX design job is unlikely a six-figure job. Don’t trust the bootcamp ad. You can expect to earn 55k-90k, unless you work for FAANG. 3. You will always attend meetings and manage stakeholders. You will need to learn how to navigate politics and bureaucracy. 4. You will talk all the time. Designers are asked to present their work and idea to stakeholders. You will need to run workshops and talk to users. 5. You will need to balance both user and business requirements which can be a daily challenge. 6. You are a problem solver. While there is room for creativity, many projects have standardized design patterns you need to follow and (break sometimes).
