When we reintroduce feelings of pleasure, safety and peace, we aren’t just moving away from trauma, we’re actively building a foundation for lasting change.  Healing becomes a balanced process of letting go of what no longer serves us and embracing life affirming moments that reinforce our sense of wholeness. To support this journey, here are some guiding principles I of the share with clients that may support you in gently reconnecting  with a sense of ease and stability… 1. Follow what feels easy  A system that has endured trauma or chronic stress often finds it challenging to embrace ease and calm initially. Start by focusing on what feels just a bit easier, even if it’s something as simple as allowing yourself to rest. Healing a traumatized nervous system requires a soft, gradual approach, so letting go of pressure and following the path of least resistance can help. 2. Pick the low hanging fruit  Healing doesn’t require you to push beyond your limits. Instead, focus on a few accessible practices that feel manageable and comforting to your nervous system each day. Whether it’s gentle meditation, connecting with nature, talking to a friend who makes you feel supported, or a brief moment to slow down, choosing simple, grounding tools and sticking with them creates a familiar, safe space for the nervous system. This is something I encourage clients to do between @spinalenergetics and @insightbreathwork sessions.  3. Acknowledge small progress  Each small sign of progress, however subtle, is a meaningful step towards transformation. It’s common for the journey to feel slow or difficult, especially when reconnecting with ease and joy feels out of foreign. But every small step forward, every brief moment of calm or connection, strengthens the nervous system’s capacity to regulate itself.
