Try getting a 1GB card. I have the same camera and it works with a 1GB Sony card but doesn’t with a 2GB SanDisk.

Maybe 8gb is too much for your cam. Some old digicams only accept for example 2gb cards

I read it’s because 8gb is too much for the camera. Try using 1gb-2gb

Look up the manual of the original camera see what it says about the memory card. It can help you can’t just use anyone.
