Hey everyone, I'm Destiny Fuentes, the owner of Daylex Spa. I graduated from Garner Hayfield High School and continued my education at La James in Mason City. My journey to get here hasn't been easy. Growing up, I struggled with depression, often feeling like the black sheep and completely alone with my emotions. Coming from a big family of seven, raised in a Catholic household, personal issues pushed me away from God and my family for a long time. My relationship with God has been rocky. After making the incredibly difficult decision to give my son up for adoption—knowing he deserved a stable home full of love I hit rock bottom. I ended up in a mental hospital with postpartum depression and moved to Texas, seeking a fresh start. Eventually, I returned to Iowa and became pregnant with my daughter. God gave me a second chance at motherhood, but it wasn't until then that I fully welcomed Jesus into my life. Therapy and parenting classes prepared me for my daughter and allowed me to see God transforming my life. I started Daylex Spa with next to nothing, but God made it possible. My vision for Daylex Spa is to create an affordable place where people can come to relax, escape the daily grind, feel safe, and experience the presence of God. This is my testimony: you can overcome anything that feels impossible. You are never alone, and God has a purpose for your life. As Psalms 139:13 says, God knows you intimately.
