Chinese for sure. Any tonal language is automatically more difficult in my opinion, then you factor in Mandarin vs. Cantonese.

I feel Chinese is harder to learn than Japanese. Chinese have so many dialects and the pitch can change the word completely

I’m learning Japanese and Chinese(mandarin) and Chinese is much easier the grammar is basic and one of the Japanese alphabets came from Chinese
