@gastrohub: #halwa #halwarecipe #sujihalwa Today I wanted to make something special that I learned when I was in India. This is a traditional dessert that is usually made on special occasions like Diwali, Navratri etc. But can also be enjoyed on any day :) It takes only 10-15 minutes to make it and 10 seconds to devour it! Ingredients: 1/2 cup almonds 1/2 cup pistachios 1/2 cup of sultanas 1/2 cup of cashews 1 cup of ghee + 2 tbsp for roasting nuts 1 cup of semolina 1 cup of sugar 2 tbsps of saffron milk 1 tbsp of crushed cardamom Method: 1. Roughly chop almonds and pistachios. 2. Melt 2 tbsps of ghee and roast nuts and sultanas until golden and transfer to a different bowl. 3. Melt one cup of ghee, add semolina, roast until it turns golden, add sugar, put on low heat for 5 minutes until sugar melts and then add crushed cardamom and add 2 cups of water. 4. Transfer to a low heat, cover and cook until semolina gets fluffy and absorbs all the water. 5. Stir in nuts and sultanas and serve while it’s warm. 6. Enjoy!
