@crazyfamilyadventure: Things to do in Denali National Park: East Fork Transit You can only drive yourself 15 miles into the park. From there you have to take a bus or your to get deeper into the park. Normally you can go 90+ miles in. But due to a landslide that took our the road you can now only go 43 miles in. There are tours you can take or you can do the East Fork Transit bus. All options go on the same route but on the bus kids are free! We opted for that option. It is a full day event taking anywhere from 4-6 hours. The bus will stop when wildlife is spotted and the driver encourages you to tell STOP when you see something. You can also get off at the 43 mile spot and walk around on the river bed and get on a different bus for the ride home. This is what we did. There are no bathrooms on the bus but they do make a stop about an hour in at a bathroom stop. And there are porta potties at East Fork. We saw a ton of animals from a distance (multiple bears with cubs, caribou, dall sheep, and a fox). If you are looking to get deeper into the park and want to save a few dollars this is the way to go!
