@screenwritinginla: Word of the day: Equipoise. Really love this. No wonder he’s so damn good at what he does - and that everyone loves working with him. The respect he has for the craft and the audience is what it’s all about. How serious he takes it. The responsibility he feels. I know some people don’t see Cinema as this “important.” But I do. Cinema is my home. It really saves me. My family, my best friends are on the screen often. And he knows that it can have that impact on people and seems to want to live up to it. All the best filmmakers do it - whether consciously or not. And I love what he says about the balance. Equipoise. He’s not saying it’s as “hard” as being an athlete, but that it takes that same level of concentration in its own way. How else do you not act and just be? This full interview was amazing.
