@tianasjournal: many don’t talk about how important it is to take care of your #MentalHealth as a social media manager. 🧠 sometimes you can get so caught up in the never ending changes of socials, keeping your clients happy by doing tasks that weren’t originally in the contract, managing multiple social media platforms that somehow transitioned you into more of an admin/project manager role than what you’re supposed to be, etc. 😅 🎯because aspects of social media continuously evolve - as those who work in #socials it is IMPERATIVE for us to allow our boundaries, contracts, and specialties evolve with them. I first heard of #socialmediamanagement for the first time in 2018. a few years before that, SMM wasn’t even a job. Now think about all of the things that we have had to learn, adapt, and execute in order to build strong communities and convert that community to sales. 📊 we went from a post ➡️ stories ➡️ collaborative lives ➡️ stickers ➡️ carousel posts ➡️ reels ➡️ guides ➡️ broadcast channels ➡️ and now threads. now let’s be fr. as social media and what it takes to be successful on it has evolved, the way clients work with, pay, and communicate with their SMM’s HAS to reflect the evolutionary changes. 🗣️ if there is one thing I wish I could go back and tell my younger social media manager self is, don’t be afraid to pivot your specialties and make those contract amendments as social media evolves. ultimately those clients hired you for one thing, but if it begins to look, sound and feel like something completely different — RUN! you know what you love and don’t. stop trying to do it all, and do what you love. peace of mind over money 💰 for me any day 😌 confessions of an #exsocialmediamanager 🥰 this is my intro to a new series I’m working on for my personal brand of me just being Tiana and what has been heavy on my heart to help those in socials now or wanting to start their career in it. so tap in 😜 and if you work in socials, pls drop your 2 cents.
