@landon_signs: I have been doing pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) with Haven since she was a newborn strapped to my chest. she's very familiar with the practices and likes to bring an animal to our sessions so she can teach them, too. She gets disruptive sometimes and is not always in the mood to practice with me, but I make sure she sees me practice as often as possible.
Controlling the breath allows us to control the circuits in the brain that are responsible for our levels of alertness and focus, as well as our emotional experience. Along with asana (physical yogic movements), the yogic breathing exercises are the most important part of my daily wellness curriculum. These yogic practices have afforded me a level of self-control and inner peace I never would have thought would be possible for me, and I hope to pass them on to Haven
