I think if the bear only saw them as “food” he would’ve unalived them the 1st time he laid eyes on them but he didn’t he had his tummy full and was enjoying the salmon, Timmothy must’ve done something to starle the bear and that provoked the attack, keep in mind he didn’t eat Timmothy while mauling him like all bear attacks do, he left Timmothy mauled body than went after his wife, it’s a clear sign he felt they were a threat to him & needed to solve that threat appropriately for his own protection. Moral of the story, don’t go into someone else’s property & behave like you’re a welcome guest there.

With Empathy i state... the bears were not their Murderers... They were encroached upon in their Natural Environment and acted as bears act in the wild. We Must not mistake occasional acceptances from animals as having tamed them on any degree
