You’ll make all the progress you want by focusing on the basics and getting STRONGER at them. — When would someone ever need to intentionally bias the short & long heads of their biceps? — Perhaps if they’ve trained for a very long time, and they’re getting close to their bicep’s maximum growth potential. Essentially, it would be an attempt to squeeze out the last remaining gains they could ever get. — The other scenario would be if one of the biceps heads had an obvious deficit in development. The individual may want to direct their training towards that head. But again, the lack of development would only be apparent if the individual was advanced and had years of training under their belt. — With that said, if you enjoy doing exercises that slightly bias one head over the other, go for it! They will help grow your arms, and can help keep training fun and fresh. I’m not saying “don’t do these exercises”. I’m merely saying “don’t worry about intentionally trying to direct growth unless you’re highly advanced, or, you’re advanced AND have an obvious deficit in development”.
