Essentially french toast, is nothing too crazy but it requires a little patience just like when you go down under. 2. You can also half the recipe and go for one doughnut each. FYI: A smaller portion and her craving more is better than an oversized portion and her feeling too full. 3. Optional if you want to go a step further, serve it with a glass of Moscato d'Asti, she'll be pleasantly surprised. Ingredients: - 4x jam doughnuts (some older ones will do, i.e., on sale) - 2 eggs - 150g heavy cream - 150g full-fat milk - vanilla essence, seeds or powder - pinch of salt - Icing sugar for dusting - 500g strawberries ( a bit extra in case some of them are bad) - 3-4 tsp of raspberry jam (without seeds) - 4 tsp of butter - 2-4 scoops of vanilla ice cream Process: Beat eggs, heavy cream, milk, salt and vanilla together until fully combined. Soak one by one your donuts in the custard mix. Allow excess to drip off on a tray. In the meantime, clean and cut your strawberries and season with raspberry jam. Then, On medium-low heat, add butter and add 1-2 doughnuts to the pan. Move them around the pan gently and flip every 1-2 minutes (8- 10 minutes) until nice and golden brown. You don't want to do this to cook otherwise the custard isn't cooked inside. You also don't want to burn the butter. Once ready, ice each doughnut. Add some strawberries and 1-2 scoops of vanilla ice cream.
