Bus update: It’s been about 8 weeks since i bought this school bus. The amount of failures, lessons, tears and wins has been more than I can recount. Obviously I had no idea what I was getting into when I decided to follow through with this dream, but now that I’m in the thick of it, the lessons are incredible to say the least. The biggest lesson from this build is patience. Patience with myself, with others helping, and the time ticking for me to get on the road. My room is now a storage compartment for the oven, fridge, tools, etc. And the bus has endless amounts of work I could think to do every single day. With being in a band with shows every week, needing to get the bus live-able in only a couple of weeks, and the lack in knowledge I still possess on the future projects ahead, there has been an insane amount of overwhelm. Not having time to take care of myself etc. I’m learning how to manage everything on my plate and anytime I feel emotions from the hiccups and overwhelm, I just look at where I’ve come with this process and imagine myself feeling free in the middle of nature with beautiful souls around me - sharing food and playing music in this home that I can move anywhere that I want. I’ve learned that it’s okay to ask others for help. That I don’t know a lot about building a home, and that each step is a spiritual journey with the growth of my perseverance and patience. The fact that nature can be the driving force of inspiration and motivation to keep going with this project is just incredible to me.
