So this was my Sunday afternoon coming home from drill. Came upon a loose horse walking down the road. Her owner was trying to catch her but obviously did not know how to catch stubborn horses. I was finally able to catch her after I got a halter from him. After I got her walked back to the guys house he said multiple times that he is unable to finacially care for this horse and does not have the time for her anymore. She’s emaciated, full of cuts and fly bites, her leg has a large swollen gash on it. One of his neighbors called a friend with a horse recuse to come pick up the horse this morning on 7/21. Overnight he changed his mind and just wants to board the horse at the rescue instead of surrendering it after saying multiple times he doesn’t have the resources to properly take care of her. I am staying in touch with the neighbor who is friends with the owner of the horse rescue and hopefully will be back with a positive update on if she gets rescued from this terrible situation. Some people are just not meant to own horses.
