yes old trucks had water cooled brakes but it would cause the drums to crack and they stopped making them

if you looked at the drums. you would see a line pointing at the drum. it saved many lives. as for cracking drum. I never seen them.

Pacific brand off highway logging trucks came from factory this way. I am always surprised it doesn’t crack the drums.

65 yrs ago Logging trucks and trailers had barrels of water to cool the brakes drums off.Jake brakes are on the engine
