@dadadvicefrombo: Keep in mind: 🌱We have been clearing this land and working on the soil for three years. This is just the first year we actually got to plant 🍅 Some plants were started by our neighbor in his greenhouse, others we found for good deals are local nurseries 🫐 We live quite a ways from a grocery store and my wife cans which is why we made this investment, but even if all you have is a herb plant in the window, you’re a gardener in my book 🥬 We did not buy our first house - which has been a fixer upper - until we were in our early 60s. Don’t rush yourself to meet other people’s timelines. Love, Dad #GardenTips #GardenHacks

It's great that you are showing your successes and failures. This is much more instructive, than just looking at beautiful results.

Tomato cages, the square ones you can connect together with bird netting over your apple trees and small fruit bushes works like a charm!

Plant the corn close together as well. I space them 6” apart in a minimum 4’x4’ area. This ensures proper pollination.

I hear mint is really good for keeping deer away and it’s something you can plant along a fence or perimeter.
