Sam :
I think it’s possible to start small. Walking a few laps around your room multiple times a day, and increasing slightly from there.

Wow. That was spot on. The best thing that happened to me for my depression was to get a dog. I wouldn't go for walks for my own good but for her NP.

it's the fact that you do the advice and it still feels as bad or worse. you keep going and have to spot the small wins and try to celebrate them

So glad you're spending time on this topic. I've got treatment-resistant MDD + AuDHD + just had bariatric surgery. Talk about a stacked deck. 🥴😥

I think I was depressed when I was 18. Didn't see a doc tho. But exercise helped a lot. Powerlifting in particular. I still do it to this day.

I'm fighting depressive episodes (bipolar 2) with exercises. I'm basically walking 10km/day. it's working but I'm still on (less) medication

I absolutely agree. I have recently developed long covid and horrible PEM. Can you suggest ways to deal with the depression that results from this??

I work with depressed people and change the conversation from waiting for "motivation" to practicing "discipline" through structure.

I can attest to this, my journey bouncing back from a business failure started with taking a free course online. That was all the spark I needed

As someone who has gone through this, you fight, even if you don’t want to fight for yourself, fight for those who love you and care.
