@oneplateclub: Build a Bench with Leg Drive 🦵Leg drive is tension generated from your quads which will allow you to press more weight when performed correctly. ⚙️There is multiple different ways to establish leg drive, and the technique I am teaching here is a quad focused leg drive which will help keep your hips glued to the bench. 💪Remember, the bench press is still predominantly an upper body press with the majority of the lift performed by your pecs, shoulders and arms. ⚠️We are using additional cues to provide our upper body with extra tension and force distribution to allow the main muscles to press with more support. 👎The reason I don’t like to maintain 100% leg drive is because this causes your hips to shoot in the air more often and disqualify your lift. 💯You can use 100% on the initiation of the lift but it takes more skill to time this correctly while keeping your hips on the bench. Hope this helps! Happy benching 🫶 #benchpress #bench #benching #benchpresstips #powerlifting #powerlifter #ipf
