Just put a small piece of plastic wrap. Over the knob and when it gets dirty pull it off

When I worked there I would break the spoons to have a sharp edge for those spots

when I worked at dq id just pour the really hot tea water over it and then scrubbed with the plastic brushes:) worked perfectly everytime
