Who doesn’t love a good group level up, right? The challenge of milestone leveling in a fairly open-world game is sort of running ahead of the players a bit while they make their choices. I don’t like determining where they go or what they do. I set out options, and encourage their own ideas, and then work to find the game in those decisions. It’s a fun challenge, though. And I’d like to think the arcs that form out of the game make it more memorable and fun to play. It’s certainly more satisfying to me.
