pov: you’ve been quietly crushing on jungwon for as long as you can remember. he’s always had that calm, mysterious charm that drew you in no matter how hard you tried to stop. when you finally gathered the courage to confess, he rejected you right away—short, blunt, no room for hope.
but even then, your feelings didn’t fade.
maybe it was because you were in the same circle of friends, always orbiting around each other but never close enough. or maybe because every cold glance he gave you still made your heart ache in the most confusing way. he barely talked to you unless necessary, and when he did, his words were clipped, emotionless. yet, you stayed. hoping. admiring from a distance.
everyone in your friend group would often tease the two of you, laughing about how opposite you both were. you’d laugh along while sneaking glances at him, wondering if he ever saw you the way you saw him. deep down, you could tell he was always slightly irritated around you, but you convinced yourself it was just part of who he was.
what you didn’t know, was that he felt it too—he just didn’t know how to face it. one friday evening, your friend group planned a party at her house. you initially had no intention of going. curled up in bed in your oversized hoodie, you stared at your phone, uninterested. but then you got a call.

what you didn’t know, was that he felt it too—he just didn’t know how to face it. one friday evening, your friend group planned a party at her house. you initially had no intention of going. curled up in bed in your oversized hoodie, you stared at your phone, uninterested. but then you got a call.
"hey! jungwon's coming tonight," your friend said casually over the phone.
you sat upright instantly. "what?"
"yeah. shocker, right? he rarely goes to parties. anyway, get dressed. everyone’s coming."
and just like that, your body moved faster than your mind. you slipped into your prettiest outfit, fixed your hair, dabbed a bit of gloss, and tried to look like the best version of yourself—maybe for the chance that he might actually notice. when you arrived, the air was filled with music, laughter, and the smell of snacks and drinks. your friends cheered when they saw you.
"you look so good tonight!" one of them exclaimed.
"wow, someone came prepared," another teased.
you smiled shyly, your eyes scanning the room—and then you saw him. jungwon stood at the corner of the room, leaning on the kitchen counter, a glass in hand. his gaze was locked on you. it wasn’t subtle. it wasn’t fleeting. but the moment your eyes met, he looked away abruptly and took a long sip from his drink.
 your chest fluttered.
you bit your lower lip, hiding a smile. later that night, everyone gathered at the dining table for a game of truth or dare. the room buzzed with excitement and light-hearted banter as each person took their turn, laughing, screaming, groaning. eventually, the bottle spun and pointed directly at jungwon.
he sighed and rolled his eyes, clearly bored but not one to back down.
"dare," he muttered. your friend grinned mischievously.
"i dare you… to kiss someone you like."
a collective "oooh" echoed around the table, everyone leaning forward in anticipation. your heart sank. you didn’t know why, but a heavy pit formed in your stomach. maybe it was the fear of seeing him walk over to someone else. maybe it was because, deep down, you already knew the answer wouldn’t be you. you forced a smile, stood up abruptly, and muttered, "excuse me. bathroom."
no one stopped you. no one saw the tears welling up in your eyes as you quickly walked away. inside the bathroom, you locked the door and leaned against it. a single tear slipped down your cheek, followed by another.
you wiped them away quickly, whispering to yourself, "don’t cry. he doesn’t matter. it’s okay."
but your heart didn’t believe any of it. after a few minutes, you composed yourself, took a deep breath, and opened the door—only to freeze in place. jungwon was there. leaning casually against the wall, arms crossed, as if he had been waiting.
"what took you so long?" he asked, his voice softer than usual. you blinked, confused. was he really talking to you? (comsec++) #enhypen #enhypenpov #jungwon #JUNGWON #yangjungwon #YANGJUNGWON #fyp #FYP #dorotheawrites
