Best practice is to not pick up and not interact in any way. Even picking up tells scammers that it is a live number.

Sign up for www.donotcall.gov to remove your number from telemarketing lists. This should remove spam calls too.

You have to answer get their name and company name and tell them you’re not on the do not call list. They drop the call quickly. And you can report it
