@screenwritinginla: Read your script aloud! Read it to a friend. While you’re still writing it. A trusted friend, of course. Because your friend, even without them giving feedback, will become a reflection of how an audience might react. You can get inside their mind by noting how they are taking in the words you’re speaking. It’s the best way to really see how your script is landing. Coverage is great. But seeing how someone reacts in real time is better. I mean, that real human connection. Also, probably more importantly, reading your script aloud, sharing the story, gets you so motivated and inspired. Sharing it. Letting it live. The issue is that so many people are too precious with their work. And that’s how it gets forever trapped in your own mind. Let it fucking breathe every now and then.
