Replying to @ngasaintshit55 you want to drag the ball back and cradle it on top of your laces. You can either cradle it and then drag back or wait until your laces are nearly perpendicular to ground and catch it on your upswing. You also have 2 main options in releasing it . You can keep your foot facing forward and use your toe to flick it up and a bit forward —or you can subtly rotate your foot just before release so it comes off the inside of your toe. Second method is prob ideal cause you need to turn to square up with the ball before you do the flick anyway. So rotating your body mid step 1 would help release it off the inside toe. Finally, it’s gonna be tougher the bigger the ball or the bulkier your shoes. I recommend barefoot so you can get a feel for the ball throughout the whole first step 🙌
