to be VERY clear: my endometriosis excision did NOT cure my endo. It didn’t take all of my pain away. It DID make my periods more tolerable. It did reduce the amount of heavy pain medication I have to take on my period. It did reduce my levels of pain. It did help the pain I feel all month long. It did give me the ability to hold a full time job. It did reduce the time I’m bed bound. It did allow me to go out and enjoy life on my period. It did validate my experiences. While my experience is not as black and white as this video seems, my excision has changed my life, even if not in the extreme ways those without Endo were expecting. and that’s okay with me. I still left work early on day 1 of my period. I still had to cancel an appointment. I still had to take pain meds. My husband still had to carry me inside. BUT I went to work the next day. I was able to use non-medication tools to manage my pain. I was able to ambulate with mobility aids after managing the first few hours. Lyrics: Canceling plans, when I need people the most. Grieving my life, but I’m not even that old. They say “you look well,” but there’s a war in my mind. I don’t get-“ VD: Tayler, a young white thin woman with medium length brown hair, in multiple clips. The first half are clips of her in black and white in obvious pain. The text reads, “my periods before my endometriosis excision. H the second half of the video is in color and tayler is still struggling but also having positive experiences. The text reads, “my periods after endometriosis excision.” #chronicillness #disabilitypride #endo #endometriosisexcision #endometriosis #endoexcisionsurgery
