A local thrift store was found to be in possession of a human skull, which was tucked away in its Halloween section, and mistaken for a replica. On Saturday, a shopper later identified as an anthropologist, came across the item in a local store in North Cleveland Avenue in Fort Myer, Florida. They recognized it to be a real human skull and alerted the authorities. “Based upon the observations of detectives on scene, the skull is believed to be that of a human,” the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement posted online. The owner of the thrift store said that the skull had been in a storage unit that was purchased years prior.
