Depends on the society you live in. In Black church culture, women are shamed more than men

I’ve worked in corporate, agency, startup, and freelance roles across the beauty and wellness CPG world. I’ve launched brands, designed products that actually sell, and built visual identities that do more than just look good. So here’s what I’d tell you as a founder. Not to be rude, but because someone needs to say it: 1️⃣ Pretty isn’t the same as strategic  ➝  If your branding isn’t solving a business problem, it’s just decoration. And decoration doesn’t drive revenue. 2️⃣ Your founder story matters… but only if it’s relevant  ➝  It’s great that this all started in your kitchen. But unless it ties back to your customer’s needs, save it for a podcast. 3️⃣ Your packaging is your most important marketing channel  ➝  It’s the only brand touchpoint guaranteed to land in someone’s hand. Treat it like the sales asset it is. 4️⃣ You’re launching too early  ➝  One moodboard and a vibe isn’t a brand. Go back. Refine it. Pressure test it. You’re rushing something that needs time. 5️⃣ No one cares about your product yet  ➝  You need to earn attention with clarity, relevance, and storytelling. Otherwise, you’re just noise. And idk about you, but I enjoy my noise-cancelling headphones. 6️⃣ You don’t need more fonts. You need more discipline  ➝  Consistency builds trust. And trust builds brands. Pick a direction and commit to something for once. 7️⃣ Minimalism only works when the product delivers   ➝  If your unbranded dropper bottle looks like everyone else’s, your results better slap or people won’t come back. 8️⃣ Stop trying to speak to everyone  ➝  If your target audience is “women ages 18–65,” your brand has no spine. Be specific or be forgettable. 9️⃣ “Founder-led” is not a creative strategy  ➝  Being the face is not the same as having a point of view. Say something meaningful. Solve a real problem. 🔟 You’re underestimating how much design impacts conversion  ➝  It’s not just a logo. It’s how you build trust, guide behavior, and create desire. Treat it like a growth lever because it is. #BuildingABrand #FounderTruths #Designer #BeautyIndustry #BrandAdvice
